The mind loves to relive the past or try to project how the future might turn out. Without constant training and pulling into the now, it is all too easy to miss the present moment.

Here is a short story which could be resourceful for you.

Two monks were walking along by a river, enjoying conversation and the natural beauty surrounding them.

There happened to be old lady standing at the bank and looking over to the other side. The monks were going to cross and one of them picked up the old lady and carried her across to the other side. The conversation went quiet and thirty minutes passed before the second monk asked the first:

"You know, I just have to ask - we are bound by various religious vows and we are not to lay a hand on women, yet you carried that lady across the river?"

The first monk replied, "And I put her down back there. Why are you still carrying her?"

Put your thoughts down.

You don't need to keep carrying them.
